COVID - 19 FAQ
One thing we have learned throughout the pandemic is that guidelines are ever changing. Carnaby 39 fully supports the Scottish Government's response to the outbreak and currently await clarity on work practices for Scottish salons. please understand that as the guidelines change so will these FAQs
Do I have to wear a face covering for my appointment?
Phase 3 Scottish government guidelines permit Hair salons to open if health and safety measures are implemented. As the nature of a hair service means close contact between two people within the 2 metre distance rules then this means a face covering should be worn until restrictions have changed. You may bring your own or you will be provided with a disposable face mask for the duration of your appointment. Guidance will be followed closely and changed as per update.
How are you complying with hygeine standards?
At Carnaby 39 we will be following the strictest of hygiene standards as per public health guidance. Hand washing/sanitising facilities will be available to all clients and staff. Decontamination of positions, and equipment as always between clients.
If I am feeling unwell but only mild cold symtpoms, can I still come?
At Carnaby 39 we value the health and well being of our clients, staff and their families. If you are feeling at all unwell even if you believe it to be unrelated to Covid-19 we ask you to contact us to reschedule.
I am worried about the length of my appointment and close contact exposure to others
At Carnaby 39 we understand that some of you may be feeling apprehensive about coming back to the salon. Being a small salon and team (one stylist and one assistant) we are in a fortunate position that there will be space to work safely. Appointment structure will change so that there is only one client at a time with additional time in between clients to reduce any overlap. Having both team members in the salon will ensure smooth running of times and maintaining a clean safe environment. Some services are longer in time so we have will be trialling two new services which may address this. Express colour and a dry cut these will be at our discretion.
I see there is a price change to some services, why is that?
In order for Carnaby 39 to reopen its doors safely we have had to put in additional safety measures and restructure the current business model. This has prompted a a price review to services which we hope will enhance the experience for our clients. We will be offering loyalty cards with discount for returning clients as a reward. NHS and Student discount will continue (state when booking). As our Junior Stylist develops in her training there will be services offered at training rates too.
Will refreshments still be available?
As we move with government guidance we want to make sure everyone is safe. For this reason and with the use of protective face coverings we would advise to you hydrate prior to coming to your appointment for the time being. As we pride ourselves on client experience, not being able to offer refreshments is disappointing but will continually monitor and adapt when possible.
Before attending your appointment it is important to read this questionnaire. you will be asked about it though you are not expected to print and complete it. Attending an appointment with any possible symptoms not only puts other at risk but may also cause temporary closure of the salon.
